Lesson 5: Introducing Yourself and Days of the Week
Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Introduce themselves using basic phrases.
- Understand and recognize introduction dialogues.
- Identify and correctly order the days of the week.
- Use dates in conversation, including days and months.
- Practice pronunciation and fluency through oral exercises.
Duration: 1 hour
- Introducing Yourself (15 minutes)
- Listening and Reading Activity: Students will listen to and read sample introduction dialogues (page 34, exercise 1).
- Comprehension and Matching Exercise: Students will match photos to the corresponding dialogues and check the sentences they hear (page 34, exercise 2).
- Days of the Week (15 minutes)
- Calendar Observation: Students will look at a calendar and identify the days of the week (page 34, exercise 3).
- Ordering the Days: Students will complete an exercise where they write the days of the week in the correct order and number them accordingly (page 36, exercise 1).
- Practicing Dates (20 minutes)
- Days and Months Table: Students will review a table listing the days of the week and months of the year (page 36).
- Completion Exercise: Students will complete an activity related to dates (exercise 1, page 36).
- Listening Activity: Students will listen to a series of dates and check the ones they hear (page 36, exercise 3).
- Review and Oral Practice (10 minutes)
- Speaking Practice: Students will repeat key expressions from the “Communication Guide” (page 37).
- Role-Playing Activity: Each student will introduce themselves aloud using the learned phrases.
